HDMI connection with a TV

Connect a TV to the unit with an HDMI cable. If you connect a TV that supports ARC to the unit, you can output video/audio to the TV or input TV audio to the unit.

About Audio Return Channel (ARC)

• ARC allows audio signals to travel both ways with a single HDMI cable. To use ARC, connect to the TV using an HDMI cable that supports ARC.

• If you connect a TV that supports HDMI Control to the unit with an HDMI cable, you can control the unit’s power and volume with the TV’s remote control.

• To use HDMI Control and ARC, you need to configure the HDMI settings on the unit. For details on the settings, see the following:

• “HDMI Control and synchronized operations”

• “Audio Return Channel (ARC)”

• If your TV does not support Audio Return Channel (ARC), a digital optical cable connection between the TV and the unit is needed.
